Kunming Area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone launches official website in Chinese, English, Lao and Myanmar language
The official website “FTZ Time” (https://ftztime.kunming.cn) of Kunming Area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone (hereinafter referred to as Kunming Area) in Chinese, English, the Lao language and the Myanmar language was officially launched on Aug. 30, 2022, the third anniversary of the establishment of Kunming Area. Meanwhile, the overseas column “FTZ Time” was simultaneously published by Lao mainstream newspaper and news site, which became a new way for Kunming Area to promote international communication and a new model to tell the story of China’s opening-up to the south.
Standing at the forefront of Yunnan’s opening-up, Kunming Area actively makes full use of Laos’ geographical advantage, the opening of the China-Laos Railway and the opportunity of China’s opening-up to the south. Focusing on Laos, it cooperates with the media of Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Sri Lanka and other countries to launch the international communication promotion event “FTZ Time”, further expanding the popularity and influence of Kunming Area in Laos and surrounding areas.
Make voice of Kunming Area heard in multiple languages
Since its establishment in 2019, Kunming Area has continuously explored to better tell the story of Kunming Area and show the image of Kunming Area. In 2020, on the first anniversary of its establishment, Kunming Area launched its official website in Chinese, English and the Myanmar language, and opened its official accounts on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. The updates about its developments, innovation cases, achievements, foreign policies and the beauty of Kunming and Yunnan are posted in Chinese, English and the Myanmar language. The new model of promotion in three languages is pioneered in Yunnan Province, which has presented a true, multi-dimensional, and panoramic view of Kunming Area to the world.
In May 2022, Kunming Area innovated its international communication channel and launched its official website in the Lao language, which made Kunming Area become the first pilot free trade zone in China in possession of a website in Chinese, English, the Myanmar language and the Lao language. The launch has received extensive attention from Lao mainstream media. The Pasaxon, the official organ of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, published an article titled China’s First! Launch new website to show new image of Kunming Area
On the day of its third anniversary, Kunming Area innovated again, and officially launched the website “FTZ Time”. It’s an innovative and beneficial way for Kunming Area to develop international communication and cultural exchange with the world.
The website “FTZ Time” is rich in content and novel in form. It integrates pictures, texts and videos to display the high-quality development and enormous business opportunities of Kunming Area in all aspects and angles, showing a brand new image of Kunming Area. The website includes four sections: Discover FTZ, News, Overseas Vision and Media Platforms.
By introducing National Strategy, Yunnan’s opportunity, Integrated Development and Integration of Four Zones, Discover FTZ describes the purpose and significance of China’s establishment of pilot free trade zones in Yunnan and other border areas, as well as the development goals and priorities of Kunming Area.
Focusing on the Lao language, News updates relevant news in Chinese, English, the Lao language and the Myanmar language to show overseas the history and business opportunities of Kunming Area.
Overseas Vision displays the column “FTZ Time” published by newspapers and news sites of Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia and other countries, as well as the posts on Facebook and Twitter, which is the best platform for overseas to follow Kunming Area’s recent news.
Media Platforms displays all the media platforms of Kunming Area, such as the official WeChat account, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
Notably, the website “FTZ Time” can realize real-time translation and comparison of Chinese-Lao, Chinese-English, and Chinese-Burmese. Launch overseas column to tell new story of Kunming Area
China and Laos are always friendly neighbors and share similar concepts. With the opening of the China-Laos Railway and the official entry into force of the RCEP, China-Laos cooperation has ushered in new opportunities for development. On May 30, 2022, Kunming officially mandated Xishuangbanna’s Mohan Town to jointly build an international port city with Xishuangbanna, making Kunming the first provincial capital city with a “borderline” in China. It can effectively play out the advantages of policy-stacking of the “Four Zones” — Kunming Area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Kunming Economic and Technological Development Zone, Kunming Free Trade Zone, and Mohan-Boten Economic Cooperation Zone.
To make full use of Laos’ geographical advantage and various opening-up opportunities to achieve high-quality leap-forward development and tell the story of FTZs well, Kunming Area collaborates with Laos’ Pasaxon to launch the international communication promotion event “FTZ Time”, further expanding the popularity and influence of Kunming Area in Laos and surrounding areas, telling a new story of China’s opening-up to the south, and boosting China-Laos cooperation in multiple fields.
With the theme of FTZ Time, the event focused on Kunming Area’s achievements since its establishment three years ago, the development blueprint of the four zones’ integrated development — Kunming Area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Kunming Economic and Technological Development Zone, Kunming Free Trade Zone, and Mohan-Boten Economic Cooperation Zone, as well as hot topics such as the opening of the China-Laos Railway and the official entry into force of the RCEP. Several experts and representatives of governments and enterprises from China and Laos are invited to talk about Kunming Area’s new opportunities for development under China-Laos cooperation.
